Make your document authentic & trustworthy

Witness, sign, stamp

Adding an extra layer of security to your documents

Notarization makes a document authentic and trustworthy. Notarization adds an extra layer of security to documents by telling us a document is real and the signature(s) on it are verified.

How to get a notarized and legalized document?

In Canada, notary publics are authorized to witness, sign, and stamp documents to certify that they are a true copy of the originals. Since it is difficult to confirm the authenticity of a document issued abroad, many countries ask for personal and commercial documents to be notarized and Apostilled before they are accepted for use.

The Hague mandates that certain documents, including RCMP checks conducted through a name search and pension letters, undergo notarization as a crucial step in the Apostille process. Additionally, for documents intended for countries outside the Apostille Convention, notarization is required as well. In such cases, the authentication and legalization processes become essential through the respective embassy or consulate.

As an integral part of our comprehensive document services, we handle the notarization of your documents before initiating the specific process required. This ensures a seamless procedure tailored to the unique needs of each destination, including Legalization through the respective embassy or consulate if needed.

Other services we offer

You take a seat while we do all the running around

Authentication proves genuineness of a public official’s signature on documents, making them usable for immigration purposes. In Canada, we manage provincial and federal authentications, RCMP record checks, and apostilizations. For the USA, we can handle document procurement (where applicable) and apostilization for every state.

Apostilization

Apostilization is a single-certificate document authentication process used by countries that are signatories of the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention on Private International Law.

Provincial Apostille

Some immigration applications may require certain documents to be Apostilled at a provincial or territorial level.

Federal Apostille (Authentication)

Your documents may need to be ratified by a federal authority before they’re used abroad.

Legalization

If countries require authentication or legalization, the embassy or consulate may have a preference between Global Affairs Canada and a provincial authority.signature(s) on it are verified.
